Ziyad Abulhamayel

Ziyad Abulhamayel is Board of Director, Chairman and CEO and co-founder at GCE Consulting, and Former Executive Director at SABIC. An accomplished executive with over 30 years of leadership experience in the petrochemicals and refinery industry, he has successfully progressed from a mechanical project engineer in Sasref followed by Samref — where he held several supervisory and leadership roles — to senior executive roles within one of the world's leading refineries and petrochemical enterprises.

Throughout his distinguished career, Ziyad has held pivotal leadership roles across maintenance, technical services, and manufacturing at SABIC and its affiliates, including Yanpet (a SABIC–ExxonMobil joint venture) and Ibn Rushd. His accomplishments include directing multi-disciplinary teams, advancing EHSS performance, implementing operational strategies, and optimizing large-scale maintenance and technical functions to strengthen reliability and efficiency across petrochemical plants — with major transformation projects such as the Manufacturing Services project covering all phases (feasibility study, detailed design, execution), as well as process safety leadership and asset aging assessment (AAA).

A visionary leader known for his ability to drive transformation and create sustainable value, Ziyad continues to champion innovation, operational optimization, and long-term strategic growth within the energy and petrochemicals sector. He holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from KFUPM, an MBA degree, and a master's degree in Political and Diplomatic Relations.
